Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is the Mexican American sportscaster. She hosts SportsNation and is a SportsCenter anchor. Her first assignment with ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been since when she was nine years old. Her ability in this area helped her to get her first job with Univision, Miami. She was able to work alongside national producers on shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The next position she was offered was a Sports Reporter at CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. Then she moved into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on one of the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley in Texas in which she was a reporter for KNVO 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The duties of anchoring for weather or sports were regularly demanded. Then she anchor and wrote on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She wrote on the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason games, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. Apart from that she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. Then, she became the sports host for the morning program of Despierta America Deportes. She also served as a sports anchor in Primer Impacto, a magazine program on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents hail of Veracruz Mexico. The family moved towards Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November of 1985. Her older sister is also hers. She has an older sister. After a while, her parents separated and in 1995 Fabio Fajardo got married again. He passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. While on a vacation Antonietta was staying at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed the job of his dreams. Antonietta was a senior high school student however, she had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She visited Mount Union University to find out if the school was suitable for her. As it turned out she was a fan of the university and the university offered the major she was looking for. After completing her high school education, she was accepted into the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor - was also the manager at WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Mark's passion for journalism and her self-confidence instilled confidence in her. She in turn was determined to achieve the standards he set and to not disappoint him.
